A Prayer From a Friend

A friend wrote me this long prayer this morning, it moved me deeply. And I hope that you find healing in these words as well:

I wanna pray for you

I want to pray that you understand just how much God loves you. I want to pray that you get just how much God wants the best for you. I want to pray that you are fully aware of God’s presence.

I want to pray for you today because I know we all need it. We all make mistakes. We all have that miscommunication issue. I want to pray for you that you understand that I have already forgiven you.

I want to pray for you today in hopes that you are aware that you are blessed. I want to pray over you favor when favor seems distant. I want pray over you grace and mercy. I want to pray over you that you fully wrap your mind around the fact that you are forgiven in Christ Jesus.

I pray over you today with the purest intentions. I pray over you today that you let God what He needs to do in your life. I pray that you allow God take care of you. I pray that God gives you understanding.

I pray that you find courage to fight one more day. I pray that you finally learn to forgive yourself for whatever it is that has been haunting you. I pray that you find peace. I pray that you find joy.

I pray that you find all that you seek in Christ. I pray that God opens your eyes to who He truly is and that He gives unfounded love! I pray you open your heart once more!

I pray over you today with the fact that the enemy has been running amuck in your life. I bind that devil up in the name of Jesus. I pray that you stand firm in confidence in who your God is!

I pray that you understand that God did not leave you. He did not abandon you. He is still there watching and waiting. I pray that you know that God takes care of you when you are unable to!

I pray that you read this whole prayer out loud. I pray that you let God show you that you are worth it. I pray that you allow God to break down those walls that you built. I pray that no weapon formed against you shall prosper.

I pray that God shows Himself strong in your life. I pray that you understand who YOU are in Christ Jesus! I pray that when you read all of this that you understand that you are more powerful now than ever!

I pray that you do not dismiss this prayer. I pray that you print it off and keep it as a constant reminder of just how good God is and that you will always have someone praying for you.

I pray that you know that I am always praying over you. I want you to know that this prayer isn’t for show. This prayer is real. There is power in these words that I have written.

I pray over you today. I pray that you understand that you are more than able to go the distance. You were born on purpose with a purpose. You are blessed and highly favored by God. You are loved and you are wanted. You are adored by the Most High God. You are His child. You are known and you are heard.

I pray that you have an incredible day and that I pray all of this in our Savior’s name King Jesus

Noticing The Unseen War

What I am about to say, might freak some readers out. I pray that isn’t the case, but as of late there has been a strong sense of an evil presence. One that wants to destroy everything in its path. In the Christian world view (which is how I see the world), there is a enemy that rises up against everything good, holy and pure.

Christians call him, the devil, satan and so on. I’m not sure I subscribe to the idea of a little red guy with horns and pitch fork. But more so a dark, looming character that whispers lies quietly into the minds of people. If you have ever seen the passion of the Christ, that is very much how I imagine the devil being and acting.

But one might argue, “how can you still believe in that? Haven’t we moved on?”

I’m not so sure, I’m not sure how anyone could deny that there is a war going on between good and evil. This is what we call spiritual warfare. Over the last several years, I haven’t given this concept much thought. Yet if I take a close look at my life, I sense that Satan is out to destroy friendships, cause disunity and causing people to look away from the king of the universe.

Scripture speaks very clearly about not giving the enemy a foothold (EPH 4:7). I am very guilty of this, as a follower of Christ I am meant to live in step with the spirit and produce spiritual fruit. Further more, as a Christ follower I a created to armor up against spiritual attack (EPH 6).

like the disciples of Jesus, I have fallen asleep and have not been watchful. Thus, the enemy attacks and moves while my spiritual eyes are covered. As christians, it can be easy to feel powerless, but the Lord has granted us constant access to his presence and given us the sword of the spirit.

I have forgotten that the Lord created a warrior inside me, I have forgotten that there is a sword that I can always take up in times of battle. Its time we open our eyes to the battle waging around us.

“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” Ephesians 6:12

The Lie We Like To Believe

So many people attempt to go through life, doing things on their own strength. Even yours truly does it all to often. What I find though, is that when I attempt to do things on my own strength I often run out of strength easily and I grow tired. Does this happen to you? If so, I want to tell you a very basic truth, are you ready? It’s okay to ask for help. Let me repeat myself one more time: It’s okay to ask for help! It doesn’t mean your weak, or are incapable or without skill, it simply means you’re human and being human is okay. I believe the greatest lie we as humans can tell ourselves, is that we don’t need others. I know that I’ve told myself this lie and even believed it. But it’s a lie, we are meant for community, we are meant to bare each others pains and burdens. The hardest part is opening ones pie hole, and admitting when you can longer do things on your own. One has to in a way, hit their own personal rock bottom. I would almost guarantee that there are people around you or within surrounding community that would be willing to help with whatever it is. It simply requires the courage, bravery and faith to the first step. If there are not people in your, be willing to go find the help you need. It’s there to be had. If it’s counseling or some other means of help, be willing to do what it takes to find it. It’s easy to get flustered when life does not go our way, but in the end it dos not help our cause much. Be relentless, be of courage and hold strong until you find what your looking for. Blessings -Brandon
